AS TIME GOES BYE...
Well, we've just about got through 2009. Seems it just flew by, like all the other years in my life. Ha, I'm still wondering where the 70's went!
But that's something we have no control over...time.
And why is it we seem to have less now than before? Or maybe it's just me in my *old...er* years. I remember having all 7 (yes, seven) kids at home and it seems like I always had things done at the end of the day......
But now I don't seem to have enough time to get the house straightened up anymore. And it's just me here now! This is suppose to be the age of having everything to help us out.
Grandma didn't have half of the *helpful* gadgets we have. Yet she would get up in the morning, do laundry AND ironing, bottle some fruit, get bread or rolls raising for dinner, make a few calls to see if an ill friend needed something, write a letter or two, then a few lines in her Journal. After that she would get ready to go to a meeting with the ladies at Church. And this was all done before 10:00 in the morning...
I know this from reading her Journals. Something I should be doing. But I haven't. Instead I try to keep the blogs going....Hmmmm, and I wonder why I don't have time to straighten up the house and stuff...
So now the last 5 days of 2009 are ahead of us. I wonder what 2010 will bring...
If nothing else, more memories to write about.
But for now I think I'll hunker down, snuggle up, watch the snow, and remember....
Stay warm if it's cold... or enjoy the warmth if you live where it is...
Thanks for visiting me again....I'll be back soon with another memory to share.

Ah, I know exactly what you mean. The older we get, the faster time seems to pass. My goodness, it used to be an eternity waiting for Christmas; now it is gone so quickly it doesn't seem like it was even here.
It is so wonderful to meet you, and visit your lovely blog. I am so glad you stopped by and thanks to Pearl for sending you my way. :) I look forward to your posts and thoroughly enjoyed reading this one...the time does seem to fly by too quickly. Lovely blog and I am your newest follower. ;) Have a wonderful evening!

What a precious picture! And a great post...I know what you mean about getting things done. When my four children were growing up, I had everything done all the time and plenty of time to do projects with them or do whatever we felt like doing. Then I "grew up" and now it seems I'm busier than I ever was. Why is that! Hope your holidays are wonderful! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs, Coralie
Lovely post. I know everyone says Merry Christmas but so often I think it should be Memory Christmas. It is just the time of year for recollections! Good thought provoking post! Thank you!
you are sooooo right. time does go by so fast! i enjoyed your post. i seem to get less done now that the kids are older than when they were young! crazy isnt it :)
blessings,
aimee
