LOVEABLE QUIRKY PEEPS

2/22/10

DEAR ME MONDAY

Dear Me,

How awesome that someone invented the alphabet
So people can use these letters to tell their stories
and then share them...

And even though many years pass by,
someone can still hear your story.
Because you took the time to use the alphabet
and put it on paper.

Then someone gathered up all your stories
and wrote a book about you..

And as the years pass, your story goes on.
Down through the generations it passes..
And ends up being read by people miles apart.

And although you'll never know these people,
They will know you
All because of letters
on paper
in a book

That someone down through the years opens up
and decides to share your words again...

So, save all your thoughts
and put them on paper.

Because someday, down through the years
someone may tell your story too...

Love, Me

Right on girlfriend, I still want to share my sisters story but evertime I start again I get so sad so I have to put it down. I've put it away for about 1 year now. Someday though...

I always think that I should keep a journal. I do have a sketch one, but nothing 'with the alphabet'. I so love snooping on other people's too from years ago.

Great post Vicki. Hope Canute and Sarah are doing well!

Amen to that, Vicki. If we don't, they're most assuredly lost or distorted forever.

Hi Vicki...I just checked out all 3 of your blogs...busy woman, you. I can barely keep up with the one :)
I agree with your journal entry...can't imagine a life without books, I don't write 'em, but I have to read as many as I can.
Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog Xo, Lisa

Lovely thoughts. Email and texting could erase family history if we are not careful!!!

Love this post and I often think how scarce the written word on actual paper is becoming.

In the age of the computer it is becoming more common to email a letter, a thank you card etc. No greater thrill than holding a hand written letter, recipe, diary from a past generation.

Vicki,

I just posted about something very similar and taking it a step further with an exchange.

Please stop in. I'd love to have you participate:
