LOVEABLE QUIRKY PEEPS

SATURDAY CENTUS, THE SEQUEL, CHAPTER SIX..

Here are all the Centus entry's my friend PJ and I have written for the

Saturday Centus, hosted by Jenny Matlock.

(PJ) Chapter One: The Troubled

I settled into the comfortable movie theater seat with awkward 3D glasses perched on my nose, a small tub of popcorn on my lap, and a bottle of water lodged into the seat holder.

Whose business was it if this was my third consecutive movie today? Who need know that downing three small tubs of popcorn was tantamount to downing a small trough of the stuff? Who would even care that I had the popcorn to water ratio down to a science, minimizing my trips to the restroom? When I thought of all that trial and error!

I was easily whisked away during the course of each movie; yet in between them, during my snack runs, reality tried to blanket me like the contents of a vacuum cleaner bag. Eventually, I’d have to leave…

(Vicki) Chapter Two: The Angel

I'm finally here, now what?

I know what needs to be done. But I haven't a clue how I'm going to accomplish it all. And in such a short time.

This gal needs more help than I think I can give her. Should never have accepted this task, being my first time, but I did.

Guess someone has more confidence in me than I do.

I settled into the comfortable movie theater seat with awkward 3D glasses perched on my nose, a small tub of popcorn on my lap, and a bottle of water lodged into the seat holder,

And so begins my first journey from Heaven...

(PJ) Chapter Three: The Troubled

The third movie ended, so I dashed to lobby for my requisite movie “fuel” and made a beeline back for the next show.

Just as I settled into the comfortable movie theater seat with awkward 3D glasses perched on my nose, a small tub of popcorn on my lap, and a bottle of water lodged into the seat holder, some lady plopped down in the seat beside me. Geez, it’s not as if the majority of seats weren’t empty!

The annoying previews of coming attractions, which by then I could recite by heart, were suddenly surpassed in the annoyance factor by my unwelcomed neighbor tossing popcorn in the air and catching it in her mouth. A circus act! Oy.

Then it happened: she spoke while smacking popcorn. Who the heck was she, Laverne?

(Vicki) Chapter Four: The Angel

As I settled into the comfortable movie theater seat with awkward 3D glasses perched on my nose, a small tub of popcorn on my lap, and a bottle of water lodged into the seat holder, her quick reaction was a disgruntled glare. I desperately need to get her attention...
Dear Lord, she's taunting me. Doesn't she know I can hear her thoughts? Oh, guess not.

Ok, maybe my dialect is a bit obstinate, the smacking a bit irritating. What will her thoughts be if a tossed kernel missed my mouth....

I just need to focus, remember why she needs this second chance. Help her out of this mess, deal with what she's escaping from.

As I reach for more popcorn, my elbow knocks the bottle of water out of the holder, and into her lap...

(PJ) Chapter Five: The Troubled

I turned, brow furrowed, a sharp “Shhh!” cocked and loaded, but it never passed my lips because Circus Act’s elbow dumped my water into my popcorn and onto my lap!

“For Pete’s Sake,” I sputtered, “What on earth is wrong with you?!”

“Please forgive me! I wasn't paying attention.” She was humiliated; I shut up.

I set my ruined popcorn well beneath the empty seat to my right, grabbed extra napkins from my purse and began the futile task of drying myself off.

Circus Act interrupted my efforts with new popcorn and water. Where had that come from?!

Once again, I settled into the comfortable movie theater seat with awkward 3D glasses perched on my nose, a small tub of popcorn on my lap, and a bottle of water lodged into the seat holder.

(Vicki) Chapter Six: The Angel

Smiling , I settled into the comfortable movie theater seat with awkward 3D glasses perched on my nose, a small tub of popcorn on my lap, and a bottle of water lodged into the seat holder.

I realized she hadn't changed. My clumsiness had her eyebrows connecting, the look I'd seen many times; before the fatal accident that sent us both home..

She needs to know who I am, that angels remember their mortal feelings of falling in love when they come back to help someone. She's not the only one, it's happened to others. Not all is lost.

I reach for her hand and smile as I watch the eyebrows. I say her name, then tell her mine.

As tears drip onto the popcorn I let her know...

It's ok to come home now.

THE END
