LOVEABLE QUIRKY PEEPS

FROM THE DORM...

I was here when the UPS truck came early this evening. I signed, said thanks, closed the door, found a pen to cut through the tape across the top of the box, ripped it open and......

My heart swelled, a big lump formed in my throat and I let the tears fall...

Story...

About 6 years ago I was in Park City with a daughter in law. We were looking in a home deco store and I saw a quilt. It wasn't the kind with squares sewn together, it was sewn with a little swirled pattern over a pretty print, which was roses on a tea stained color fabric. I fell in love with it, but couldn't afford it at the time. She told me it looked like me :)

Mothers day that year. My son and DIL gave me a quilt...but not that one. He said she thought I wanted a quilt but she couldn't remember what I liked. It was pretty, some light pink roses with tan stripes on a white background...on big sewn together squares. Of course I loved it, gave them hugs, kisses and a big thanks.

And kept seeing that other quilt...

I know you're shaking your head in agreement...you're glad they give you things, it's the thought thing you know. And you always love whatever it is.

But I kept seeing the other quilt.

I looked for it again whenever I was somewhere I thought one might be. Saw some kind of like it, but not. I just never saw that same quilt again.....until today.

I opened the box and said aloud, " that's MY quilt!"

I'm still tearing up telling you this. I can't believe it. Life's telling me something here....

Thanks isn't even close to being the thing to say to the friend who sent it.

So I won't....

I'll just say I love her, I'm so, so glad were friends, and that the quilt will always be there for me to snuggle up with and think of her...till it's thread bear...and then some..

Thing is, she never knew anything about the quilt I've always wanted.

The Universe was at work on this one...

See ya Yesterday.....

How happy I am when I hear stories about how people brighten each other's days.

I'll just bet your friend's day was brightened equally as much to hear how much you enjoyed the quilt!
