LOVEABLE QUIRKY PEEPS

3/13/11

DO YOU BELIEVE....

In 'This was suppose to happen' days?

I do.

Here's another of my many reasons why...

I planned on spending this weekend sleeping away a headache.

More about that over on the JAKE blog

But Saturday morning I decided to drive to town. Had something to send to a friend and that's where the UPS store is. They wrap things better than I can:)

So I called my friend Marelo and off we went.

The UPS store is in a little strip mall.

A few doors away from a Pet Store. (never noticed it there before)

Twice a year, the Animal Shelter sets up a line of dogs for adoption.

Wasn't even aware of this fact. Not even a thought in my mind.

As I pulled into a parking space, something caught my eye.

A Beagle. Looking straight at me. With big brown eyes.

Now, I'm not in the position to have a pet.

I'm not home enough to give one the attention it deserves.

And I probably won't have a dog living with me again. Here's Why.
(It's a long post but at the bottom look for CASEY, he's the WHY)

I told Marelo my thoughts, got out of the car and walked over to the dog...

After learning the why's and what for's, I rubbed the dog behind the ear and walked away to the UPS store.

On my way back to the car, I went again to the Beagle.

Had a brief, deep conversation with him.

Asked if I could get him later, signed the papers, paid the fee and left.

We went to the grocery story, had lunch then back to get the Beagle.

All the time, Marelo gave me 'that look' and said "you sure"?

The feeling that this was a 'suppose to happen' day was strong.

Now to the reason...

Most of you know why I'm living where I am.

Dad gets lonely. And laughs cause he talks to himself a lot...

I've asked a few times if he'd like a dog and his answer has always been he'd love one,  but he better not...

When I took Marelo home I headed back to dads with his new companion.

When I walked onto the porch with a dog on a leash, dad smiled at him and said "Well, who are you"? Remember, he didn't know a thing about this.

I left a couple of hours later with a warm feeling in my heart.

This was a 'suppose to happen' day.

No doubt in my mind....

I'll go back today and see how things are,

take some pictures,

and tell you more later.

Do you Believe?
