Btw, the original "Bye Bye Miss American Pie" was written by a young Don McClain (spelling?), at a table in "The T&L" in my fair city. -grin-
"The T&L" is a little 'ol bar on Caroline St., originally called "The Tin & Lint." But shortened.
Oh and more trivia... Know what the "Miss American Pie" refers to? . . . . Wasn't that the name of the plane, which Buddy Holley went down in? :-) Isn't the line... "the night the music died" referring to Buddy Holley's death?
Ask your singer/son. He just might know this trivia stuff, though it was way before his time.

Awesome. Loved the disclaimers at the bottom.
Probably good, but it won't keep playing. :-(
