LOVEABLE QUIRKY PEEPS

11/11/11

ALWAYS REMEMBER.....

Those who served then....

And now.....

I hope you can take a few minutes to watch the video....

This Veterans Day is extra special because of the year 11/11/11

I'll bet every one of you have someone in your life, somehow, who is a Veteran. War sucks, the cost is unbearable. But the men and women who fight for freedom are priceless. God bless them all

Today is also the birthday of a priceless man who taught me what real love is, and let me know I was priceless in his eyes too. My Grandpa. 1892-1972  He would have been 119.

Happy birthday Grandpa.
Hold tight to that chunk of my heart you took....

Carry On....

I have had two veterans in my life: My dad - wrong country as far as the US is concerned, but he was a veteran, who lost a leg, and fought for his country, and is still missed by me and my brothers, and my husband, who served during the time of the Vietnam war. Actually, a couple more, my friend Teddy, fought in WWII, and is now battling cancer, and Ernie, who worked for me for a couple of years when he was in his 80's, who said, like all the WWII war veterans I know, that war sucks and is terrible.

Beautiful video Vic, brought a tear to my eye. The song is spot on when it says to pray for peace. Grandfathers are the best! I'm glad you had someone who saw you perfect in every way. Happy memories for you from Grandpa.

My nephew served in the current war, and he had a great idea. Why don't all veterans have the day off WITH pay?
I mean really, isn't that the least we can do?

P.S. Let's hate sewing together :)

I agreee, war sucks! Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could see the day that war was no longer necessary? My hubby was activated for Desert Storm. It was hard being home with 5 children. Luckily he was sent to Germany and returned in only 5 months. Originally we thought it would be 2 years. God bless those who lost their lives serving our country. Your grandfather looks like he was such a kind man.
