DORM LIFE TWO THOUSAND TEN...

Well here it is, almost 10pm on this Memorial Day night....and I'm sitting here listening to doors close. And that's because most everyone living here is coming back from where ever they went for the long weekend. This was my first weekend in the dorm. I've been leaving every Friday since I came her to go to the other house and get things done. But not this time. And it was so quiet...

There's a real nice guy, kid to me, living in the room on the other side of the wall. I've met him because he came to introduce himself the first day he moved in. He wanted to apologize right off for any phone ringing I might hear in the night. He's a trouble shooter for one of the big contractor companies and is on call 24 hours. Told me he knows these walls are paper thin. He was right. I can hear him clearing his throat at night. He must have put the phone on vibrate because I've never heard it ring, but I hear him talking on it. And toilets flush, showers start from other rooms next to and above me...

So I tiptoe around here. Only turn the TV on when it's absolutely necessary...Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, a rare video. But the shows are reruns now so...

I tried once before to show you the dorm room, but had some USB problems..actually it was the memory card...whew! This link...WELL OF COURSE  will take you to that post if you want to read the word version.

Here's the picture version....

Now remember, I write, not take great pictures....
And these came out a bit blurry...
didn't want anyone to hear all the camera clicking :)

The door on the right is the one I come in and go out of.

That's the black end table you see in the first picture. then the twin bed/wanna be couch, the Sofa table with the TV/VCR etc, stuff covered underneath it, and the little table with the plant..

Now you can see where I spend most of my time when I'm here...the computer! And my comfy chair. and yes, that's the other side of the room...

The window takes up a third of the wall, and red blinds no less....
Now you see where I have a makeshift kitchen. The very small fridge was already in the dorm...the only thing actually. I brought my microwave and other needs..

Yes, that's my kitchen...All on a fold up table I hope won't collapse..
And the door on the right goes into the bathroom. I'll do more pictures of it later.

And here's my little hutch, fit right on the wall real sweet. The door is the closet, the ONLY closet. Which is the door on the left in the first picture :)

I'll share more on the next post. Think I better get to bed. I'm sure the guy on the other side of the wall wants to get some sleep.  But these keyboard sounds are keeping him awake...

Aww yes, DORM LIFE....

I know everyone's wanting more of the Peter and Louise story, and that's in the makings.

See ya Yesterday...

I think you have done a great job of making it comfy in such a small space.
It is great that you have a nice and considerate neighbor too. :)

OOPS, Guess I better let everyone know I'm not in school! Aimee, I wish that was the case, but I'm actually living and working on an Army Base waiting for housing...blah.

And I think you did a great job, of going around in a circle and showing us your dorm room! Why people don't do this (when showing a room) more often, I wonder. It allows the viewer to "see" it better, for her-self.

:-)

Hope the housing comes soon. But meantime, enjoy your "different" situation. Think of the memories. :-)

Boy, you must have had to do a lot of downsizing to fit in that room. Hopefully, you'll get real housing soon.

Ahhh, the sweet life of military dorms! I don't miss them one little bit, LOL! I sure hope your housing comes through very soon, but in the meantime, you have made yourself quite a little home there! Thanks for sharing!!

Your dorm room looks real comfy and cozy. Men can't hear typing keys so don't worry about that. No wild parties for you! Ask your neighbor to go have dinner with you one night in the big kitchen area to have some company, who knows his Dad might be hot :) Don't work to hard....

Wow, you have done an amazing job at making a cozy little nest for yourself Vicki. It actually looks not bad, and I bet it's a breeze to keep clean! *grin*

Well you have the necessities and the comfy computer chair. That's a good thing.

I lived in military dorms when I was in the USAF, so this looks a bit familiar. Remind me of how long you're going to be in this one.....you're relocating soon right?

Will the next place be more permanent?
