This song is for my mom whose home was St Roses Orphanage in Wisconsin from age three to sixteen. She says she didn't know she was an orphan, she thought every kid lived that way....
Love the song. My maternal grandmother was an orphan. I think she must have felt that everything in life was a duty. She always struck me as unhappy, even having children of her own seemed to be just another duty. It's nice to hear your mother felt differently about being an orphan.~Ames
